Using Microsoft Teams at SAU

Body

SAU only supports two applications for video calling, those are Cisco WebEx and Zoom. There is nothing wrong with Microsoft Teams, but SAU cannot effectively support more video collaboration tools at this time, so it was determined that we would not support Microsoft Teams. Sometimes you may need to attend a Microsoft Teams meeting with someone outside SAU (if they send you a link), and it may be difficult to join if you haven't used teams before. If you try to open up Microsoft Teams in your normal browser, you may run into trouble as your account is not allowed to access Microsoft Teams directly. You also may not be able to install the Microsoft Teams app on an SAU device. We recommend joining using Google Chrome in incognito mode for the easiest and best experience. Icognito mode will "hide" that you are logged into an SAU account in your browser so you are able to access Microsoft Teams as a guest.

1. Right click on the meeting link (it says "click here to join the meeting") and then click "copy link"

2. To open Chrome in incognito mode you can click the three dots in the upper right hand corner, and then click "new incognito window."

3. Paste the link into your incognito browser and then load the page. You may need to follow prompts to give Google Chrome access to your microphone and webcam.
