- Go to Java.com
- Click on the “Free Java Download” button
- Click on the “Agree and Start Free Download” button. A file will start to download
- Go to the downloads folder on your computer
- Double-click on the file that starts with “jre-8u”
- Double-click on the installer icon
- Install the application. Make sure to “uncheck” any check boxes that ask you to change your home page or search engine
- Your Web Browser will open asking you to “Verify Java Version”. Click “Yes”
- When you see a “Do you trust the website ‘java.com’” dialog box, click the Trust button
- Click the “Verify Java Version” button.
- When you see the following dialog box, click the “Do not show …” checkbox and then click the “Run” button
- You should see “Congratulations. You have the recommended Java version”
- Go to System Preferences (Apple Menu -> System Preferences)
- Open Java
- Click on the Security Tab.
- Click the “Edit Site List” button
- Click the “Add” button
- Enter http://alf.arbor.edu:9040 in the location field
- Click the OK button
- If you get a “Security Warning” dialog box, click the Continue button
- Click the OK button
- Go to http://cars.arbor.edu:9040/CXConnect.htm
- Right-click on the “Run Jenzabar CX” link
- Save it to your Applications folder
- Go to your Applications folder
- Right-click on the “CXConnect.jnlp” file and select Open
- If you get a “Security Warning” dialog box, check the “I accept the risk and want to run this application” check box
- Click the Run button
- If you get a “Warning – Unavailable Version of Java Requested” dialog box, click the Run with the latest versionbutton
- Enter your username
- Enter your password
- Click the OK button
When you need to access CX 8.1 in the future, you only need to double-click on the CXConnect.jnlp file
