MicroCase for Online Students

Here are the instructions for downloading Microcase from the Internet. If you run into trouble, look at the instructions in the workbook on the bottom of page vii and the top of page viii about how to get Microcase to work on your machine.

Windows Instructions:

1. Make sure you close all program (like Outlook and Word, etc.) before starting the download process.
2. Here is the website you go to: http://www.cengage.com/cgi-wadsworth/course_products_wp.pl?fid=M63&product_isbn_issn=0534527418&chapter_number=0&resource_id=21&altname=Student%20MicroCase%20Download
3. Click in the middle of the screen on the stuff immediately to the right of the words “download now.”
4. Choose “run” in the dialog box that comes up.
5. Just follow the steps to download the software and data files (all in one download).

Mac Instructions:

1. Go to http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/
2. Click on the download icon to the right of the wine glass in a box to begin the download.
3. Wait for the download to begin or click the prompt to begin downloading.
4. Save the file and wait for the download to complete.
5. Then open the program and agree that it is okay to open the program from the Internet.
6. Then go to http://www.wadsworth.com/cgi-wadsworth/course_products_wp.pl?fid=M63&product_isbn_issn=0534527418&chapter_number=0&resource_id=21&altname=Student%20MicroCase%20Downloadand click the link next to “Download Now.”
7. Click save file and open the download.
8. WineBottler will automatically turn it into a “wine file” and will ask what you want to do with it. You may run it directly in your wine files location (the first option). Click “Go.”
9. Wine bottler will then create the wine file and the Microcase will pop up asking if you want the WinZip Self-Extrator to open the zipped file, click “Ok.”
10. Then it will give you unzipping options, simply click “unzip”
11. Student Microcase will then open and you will enter your full name. Proceed to intall Microcase.
