Connect to Network Shared Drive - Mac

Body

The user must be on a wired connection to map network drives. Mac OS allows both Wireless and Wired to be active at the same time. It's smart enough to go through the Wired connection for the network drives and Wireless connection for other things.

  1. Go to Finder
  2. Select Go on Menu Bar (at top of screen) and Connect to Server...
  3. In Server Address: type smb://arbor.edu/storage/gdrive/*desired departmental drive* or smb://arbor.edu/storage/facstaff/*username*
  4. Select "+" to add this path to their Favorites
  5. Select Connect and the Shared Drive should now be available on the Desktop
