Mac Client: Setup Mail.app

Body

  • Click the Mail menu and choose Preferences
  • Click the Accounts icon
  • Click the plus button at the bottom of the screen
  • Enter your full name, SAU email address, and password when prompted
  • Click Continue
  • Change Account Type to IMAP
  • You can type whatever you would like for Description
  • Set Incoming Mail Server to mail.arbor.edu
  • Click Continue
  • If the message “KerberosAGent wants to use your confidential information stored in 'ARBOR.EDU' in your keychain” appears, click Always Allow
  • Set Outgoing Mail Server to mail.arbor.edu (do not check Use only this server)
  • Check the option for Use Authentication
  • Enter your SAU username and password as prompted
  • Click Continue
  • If you receive a message indicating “Mail can't verify the identity of 'mail.abror.edu'” click Show Certificate, check the option to Always Trust, and click Connect
  • Make sure Take account online is checked and click the Create button
