The Mimecast Outlook plugin is deployed by default to everyone at SAU. The icon is above! If you click this icon in your email, and then click one of the options below it, a popup will show up to the right of your email where you can enter your SAU email address and sign in. Once you sign in you will see the options shown below.

There are four options below the Mimecast button, and we want to make sure you know what each option does.
  1. Report Phishing. This button is for dangerous emails that are trying to get you to provide information or that impersonate someone. Examples could include emails impersonating someone at SAU, asking you to login to a fake website, emails with fake job offers, or emails that are malicious or concerning. Clicking this option will remove the email from your mail, and add the sender to your "blocked senders" list. This also lets the Mimecast team know that the email needs to be assessed to see if the email is dangerous or should be more broadly labeled or removed. If you want our team to look at an email and provide any feedback please forward it to helpdesk@arbor.edu before you click "report phishing."
  2. Report Spam. This button is for emails that are not dangerous, but are disruptive or annoying and also from outside SAU. This could be an email with ads that you don't want to see, or for emails from a social media site you don't want to see. Clicking this option will remove the email from your inbox, add the sender to your "blocked senders" list, and will notify Mimecast to check the email and see if the sender should have a higher spam rating in their systems.
  3. Managed Senders. This button lets you add and remove email addresses from your trusted and blocked list. If you add an email by mistake this can help you remove it.
  4. On Hold. The on-hold button lets you view more information about emails that were marked as dangerous and not delivered to your mail inbox. Depending on why an email was flagged you may not be able to release it to your inbox.
