When using a ChromeBox, there a few ways a user can print a file.
Print from Chrome Browser
- Click the menu button (upper-right icon with 3 vertical dots)
- Click Print...
- Select a printer and change any print options
- Print
Print from SAU Virtual Lab
Users can create a new document, open a document on a flash drive or BOX within the Virtual Lab environment. Here's how to access the Virtual Lab.
- Click the VMWare Horizon icon (green circle, white dots) on the taskbar to launch Virtual Lab
- Login using SAU credentials
- Launch the SAU Virtual Desktop
- Login to Windows using SAU credentials
- Add the desired printer (instructions are found here)
- Print
Print to PDF
- In the Chrome browser, click the menu button (upper-right icon with 3 vertical dots)
- Click Print...
- Select Save as PDF...
- Change any print options, then save the file
Print from USB Flash Drive
Sharp, HP, Lexmark and Toshiba printers support printing PDF Files directly from a USB Flash Drive. The USB Flash Drive must be formatted as FAT32, which is the standard format. If you cannot see any files on your flash drive, it might not be formatted properly. Click Here to see instructions on how to do this. Microsoft Office files (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) must be converted into a PDF File. On Windows, this is done by saving through the “Save As” drop down menu. Choose PDF under “Save As File Type.” Click Here to see further instructions.
