How to Embed a Vimeo Video into a Blackboard Announcement

Retrieving the Embed Code:

1. In your computer browser, navigate to vimeo.com and go to the video you would like to embed.
2. Underneath the video, select the Share button. A new menu should open. 
3. At the bottom, there is an Embed section. Click on the text in the box and it should all become highlighted, copy it. We will use this text in a later step.

Placing the Embed Code into Your Announcement:

1. Navigate to your Blackboard course and to the Announcements page in the left hand menu. Select Create Announcement.
2. Enter a title for your announcement in the Subject line. 
3. In the text editor, click the More...  button on the right of the menu bar and a second row should appear below. Click the Source code  button.
4. In the new window that appears, paste that block of text that was taken from Vimeo and click the Save button in the bottom right. 
5. Your video is now represented in the text box. You can add text above or below it if you wish. 
6. Click the Submit button all the way at the bottom on the right. 
7. Your announcement including the Vimeo video has been posted.
