How to Upload a Video to YouTube

  1. In your computer browser, navigate to youtube.com and log into your account. If you have a Gmail or any other Google related account, you already have a YouTube account.
  2. After you’ve logged in and see the home page, click on the Create  button, and from the drop down menu click Upload Video. 
  3. You will be taken to a new page where you’ll be prompted to select a video file. You can either drag and drop from a file explorer window, or simply click on Select Files.
  4. After choosing your video, another section will pop up asking for information like Title, Description, and Audience. A title is required, but a description is not. You will not be able to continue until you select the audience for the video, which will be No, it’s not made for kids. 
  5. After clicking the Next button, you can click it again and skip the Video Elements section. 
  6. In the Visibility section, you can choose who is able to see your video by selecting Private, Unlisted, or Public. Private makes it so no one can see your video, Unlisted only allows someone with a link to view your video, and Public means anyone can search and find your video. It is recommended that you set the video to Unlisted and provide a link to those who you wish to view it. 
  7. Click Save to finalize your video. Captions will be automatically added when the video finishes processing.
