To use an OWL cam in an SAU conference room:
*please note the OWL cam is not part of connecting to a TV it is a webcam/confernce phone all in one
- Ensure that your laptop you are going to be using is powered on and logged in
- Ensure that the OWL is powered by by pressing the power button on the OWL, it has LED "eyes" that will illuminate when on
- the OWL has its own power cord that must be plugged in, not just the USB connection to your computer
- Connect the USB cord from the OWL to your laptop
- if using a mac you must use a USB adapter to connect to your USB-C ports
- Once the device is connected to your computer login to your video conference solution such as zoom
- Choose to use your computer as the audio device if prompted during meeting startup
- Once in the meeting use audio options (small drop down menus on the mic button) to make sure the OWL is selected as both your microphone and speaker output
- If you do not see the OWL video source as your camera, use the camera drop down menu to select the OWL as your desired camera
The OWL will self manage tracking who is talking in the room. It will always display a 360 view at the top of your camera feed to the video meeting and it will auto matically adjust the focus as different people talk. Please note this takes a few seconds for the device to track onto a different speaker.
