Setup a SAU Printer on your Windows computer

These directions are for setup on a personal windows device or a SAU owned device.

These steps work on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

  1. In your task bar search box \\print
    View a list of SAU Main Campus public and dorm printers here
  2. If done correctly, the command should look like this:

3.  If it asks you to sign in please use (yourusername).arbor.edu. If it asks for another sign in then sign in with just your username.  

 4.  A list of all available printers will appear. If you need to search for a specific printer you can click in the search bar in the top right corner and type in the printer name there. It should look like this:

5. Finally, double click on the printer you would like to add. It should automatically pull the necessary printer drivers and install the printer for you!

6. When trying to print, you should now see the printer you added. As an example, this is what it would look like when trying to print to the printer "libup1" from Chrome

Another way:

1. Go to Printers and Scanners in Window Settings

2. Select, "Add printer or scanner"

3. Wait a few seconds until, "Manually Add Printer" Appears

4. Select, "Add Manually" Under the refresh option

5. Select, "Add Printer Using IP Address or Host Name"

6. Select, "Next"

7. Change Device Type to, "Auto Detect"

8. Enter into Host Name: libup1.admin.arbor.edu or (printername).admin.arbor.edu

9. Press Enter

10. Wait a moment and make sure you have a Generic or Toshiba Driver Installed

11. You should now be able to locate printer when you go to print
