How to Use Grade Entry

  • Report all grades for all freshmen (see “Class” column on rosters/FF & FR, EE also)
  • Report grades of ”C-” and below for all upperclassmen. Place the Spring Arbor University approved grades in the column entitled “Grade”.
    • A 4.00 honor points
    • A- 3.67 honor points
    • B+ 3.33 honor points
    • B 3.00 honor points
    • B- 2.67 honor points
    • C+ 2.33 honor points
    • C 2.00 honor points
    • C- 1.67 honor points
    • D+ 1.33 honor points
    • D 1.00 honor points
    • D- 0.67 honor points
    • S 0.00 honor points
    • U 0.00 honor points (failing)
      • (must enter last date attended)
    • W authorized withdrawal
    • AU audit (no credit received)
  • “I” & “IP” are NOT approved grades for mid terms.
  • Persons who have officially withdrawn from your class will NOT be listed on the roster.
  • Notify the Office of Registration and Records ( email: bettyj@arbor.edu ) if any student who is on your roster has stopped attending the class and include a date that the student last attended the class. You will also need to grade that student with a valid mid term grade.
  • Notify the Office of Registration and Records ( email: bettyj@arbor.edu ) of any student who is
  • attending a class but is not listed on the roster.
  • Please note students could be listed with an AUDIT in the Grading Type column. For these students indicate whether or not they attended sufficiently for an audit to show on their record by entering an “AU” grade or if they DID NOT adhere to attendance policy, please assign a grade of “NC” for no credit. Those students will be dropped from the class ( if not attending).

Grade Entry Instructions:

  • Log into My SAU
  • Click on Academics tab
  • Click on Faculty on left side menu
  • Click Grade Entry on left side menu — ( NOT attendance entry )
  • Click View course list link under the orange Grade Entry bar
  • If Term is not showing as FALL 2011: click the dropdown arrow, click on FA 2011, click the search button
  • Click on course number link of the course to be graded
  • For each student, click on drop down in MidtermGrade Column, and then click on appropriate grade.
  • Do not choose “I” for incomplete. Incomplete (“I”) and In Progress (“IP”) are not approved mid term grades.
  • If you enter a “U” grade, you will need to enter a last date attended also.
  • Check grades before clicking on SAVE.
  • NOTE: After you click save, no grade may be changed.
    Grade changes must be completed in person in the Office of Registration & Records.
