This is a two-phase process.
In Phase One, you download and install Box Sync. That is the application that runs on your local computer and keeps the files in the Box folder on your computer in sync with the files in your Box account in the cloud.
In Phase Two, you move the files from the network drive into the Box Sync folder on your computer. That starts the uploading process, which could take hours.
Phase One: Download and Install Box Sync
- Download Box Sync by clicking on this link
- When you are prompted to Save or Run the downloaded file, click Run
- Install Box Sync. After installation has completed, click Close
- After installation has completed, go to http://mysau.arbor.edu in your preferred web browser.
- Log into the MySAU Portal
- Click on the Box icon in the SAU Apps area on the homepage
- When you see the "Part of Spring Arbor University" screen, click the Continue button. You are now logged into the Box website.
- Click on the New button and select Folder
- For the "Folder Name", enter Personal Files and click Create
- Right-click on the new Personal Files folder and select More Actions -> Sync
- From the Start Menu, open Box Sync.
- Click Use Single Sign On (SSO)
- Enter your SAU email address and click Login
- Enter your SAU username (username@arbor.edu)
- Enter your password and click Login
- When you see the "Welcome to Box Sync" screen, click Login
Phase Two: Move Files from Network Drive into Box Sync folder
This can only be done in a SAU building.
- Click on the Start Button
- In the Search programs and files box, type \\nfs\storage\students\yourUsername or \\nfs\storage\facstaff\yourUsername as appropriate
- Select ALL the files in the resulting window, then right-click and select Copy
- Click on the Box Sync folder under Favorites
- Open the Personal Files folder
- Right-click and select Paste
