Clearing Cache and Cookies

SAU strongly encourages the use of Firefox and Chrome as browsers of choice for accessing SAU resources such as the MySAU portal and Brightspace.  

Windows Edge and Windows Internet Explorer should NEVER be used.  They have too many errors in the way they access our websites. 

To clear Cache and cookies, follow the steps below for your browser:

In Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Settings 
  4. Click Privacy and security on the left side of the page
  5. Select Delete browsing data
  6. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  7. Next make sure "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," have checked the boxes.
  8. Click Delete data.

In Firefox:

  1. Click on the 3 bar menu button and select Settings (called "options" or "preferences" in some versions)
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel on the left
  3. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click on "Clear Data..."
  4. Change the "When" Tab to Everything
  5. Check the "Cookies and site data" and "Temporary cached files and page" boxes
  6. With the check boxes filled click the "clear" button
  7. Close out the program, start Firefox again, and attempt to access the SAU resource in question

In Edge:

  1. Click the three dots at the top right corner of the Edge browser 
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select the "Manage and delete cookies and site data button at the top of the page
  4. Click See all cookies and site data
  5. Click the Remove all button 
  6. Click the Clear button on the Clear site data box that appears.
  7. Close out of the Browser, start Edge again, and attempt to access the SAU resource in question

In Safari:

  1. Click on the history tab 
  2. Click on clear history
  3. Select all history
  4. Click on clear history
