Install and Configure Jenzabar CX 8.1 for Mac

  1. Go to Java.com
  2. Click on the “Free Java Download” button
  3. Click on the “Agree and Start Free Download” button. A file will start to download
  4. Go to the downloads folder on your computer
  5. Double-click on the file that starts with “jre-8u”
  6. Double-click on the installer icon
  7. Install the application. Make sure to “uncheck” any check boxes that ask you to change your home page or search engine
  8. Your Web Browser will open asking you to “Verify Java Version”. Click “Yes”
  9. When you see a “Do you trust the website ‘java.com’” dialog box, click the Trust button
  10. Click the “Verify Java Version” button.
  11. When you see the following dialog box, click the “Do not show …” checkbox and then click the “Run” button
     
  12. You should see “Congratulations. You have the recommended Java version”
  13. Go to System Preferences (Apple Menu -> System Preferences)
  14. Open Java
  15. Click on the Security Tab.
     
  16. Click the “Edit Site List” button
     
  17. Click the “Add” button
     
  18. Enter http://alf.arbor.edu:9040 in the location field
  19. Click the OK button
  20. If you get a “Security Warning” dialog box, click the Continue button
     
  21. Click the OK button
  22. Go to http://cars.arbor.edu:9040/CXConnect.htm
  23. Right-click on the “Run Jenzabar CX” link
  24. Save it to your Applications folder
  25. Go to your Applications folder
  26. Right-click on the “CXConnect.jnlp” file and select Open
  27. If you get a “Security Warning” dialog box, check the “I accept the risk and want to run this application” check box
  28. Click the Run button
     
  29. If you get a “Warning – Unavailable Version of Java Requested” dialog box, click the Run with the latest versionbutton
  30. Enter your username
  31. Enter your password
  32. Click the OK button

When you need to access CX 8.1 in the future, you only need to double-click on the CXConnect.jnlp file
