SAU Email on Macs using Outlook 2016

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Go to the Outlook Menu -> Preferences
  3. Click on “Accounts”
  4. Click on the “Exchange or Office 365” button
  5. Enter your firstname.lastname@arbor.edu email address in the E-mail address field. Please enter your firstname and last name as they appear in your email address
  6. Enter your “emailusername@arbor.edu” in the User name field. For example, Joe Smith’s username would be jsmith, so he should enter jsmith@arbor.edu
  7. Enter your password in the Password field.
  8. Click the “Add Account” button
  9. You may get a message about Outlook being redirected to a server to get new settings for your account “username@arboredu.mail.onmicrosoft.com”. Click the “Always use my response for this server” button.
  10. Click the “Allow” button
  11. You may get a message about Outlook being redirected to a server to get new settings for your account “username@arboredu.mail.onmicrosoft.com”. Click the “Always use my response for this server” button.
  12. Your email is now setup in Outlook 2016

Hints:

If the connection fails, uncheck “Configure Automatically” and type “mail.arbor.edu”.

After your account is set up you can change what your account is named by going to Tools > Accounts > select your account > change Account description.
