How to Logout of Box Drive

The steps below will reset your Box Drive client. If any local changes have not successfully saved to Box, please check your unsyncedFiles folder for any unsaved files before proceeding. This folder can be found at:

  • Windows: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Box\Box\unsyncedFiles
  • OS X: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Box/Box/unsyncedFiles


Reset instructions:

  1. Quit Box Drive if it's running
  2. Navigate to the location below and run (double-click) on the clean_box_desktop_artifacts file:
    1. Windows: C:\Program Files\Box\Box\clean_box_desktop_artifacts.bat
    2. macOS: /Library/Application Support/Box/clean_box_desktop_artifacts
  3. Re-launch Box Drive and you will be prompted to login. Box Drive can be launched from:
    1. Windows: C:\Program Files\Box\Box\Box.exe
    2. maxcOS: /Applications/Box.app
